Overview
Handling Specialty custom engineered and designed a scissor lift that integrated into an automotive marriage station. This lift was designed for a well-known automotive assembly line integrator and was ultimately installed in a North American automotive assembly plant.
As the lift lowers, a slide on the lift indexes out approximately five (5) feet. A shot-pin system then locks the platform top to the base enabling the slide to cantilever and pick up a vehicle axle. The slide indexes in with the load over the center line of the lift, thus causing the shot pins to disengage. Rising approximately 10”, springs on the lift begin to compress, and the axle is fixed into the vehicle.
